Learn to live again and re-engage in life

Have a dedicated grief therapist who will meet your individual needs

Art Therapy for children ages 4-11

About BCGC

BCGC was born through the vision of Hearts & Crafts Counseling. Hearts & Crafts focuses on children and their families as they navigate major life changes and challenges. As we worked with these families, we recognized a significant hole in our counseling. The clientele we served was learning how to thrive after they were confronted with a situation that seemed insurmountable, however we saw that oftentimes adults were not coming to our office unless they had a child that was also coming in for counseling. We created BCGC to complete our organization. Hearts & Crafts Counseling still very much exists, as it will always be the foundation on what we are built upon. It is the division of BCGC that provides services exclusively for children; feel free to visit Hearts & Crafts Counseling at www.heartsandcraftscounseling.org

BCGC is a place where ANYONE struggling can get the support that they need, when they need it. Our staff has been very carefully selected, as we know how fragile people can be when they walk through our door, and the care they receive from us will have a major impact on their path to healing. As the only non-profit grief-counseling center in Bergen County, we pride ourselves on empathy, warmth, professionalism and creativity, so that when you come into our office, you know you've come to the right place. Exhale. We will walk with you for as long as you need us.

The core principles that guide our work with you are:
1. We provide individualized care to each and every client
2. We are dedicated to this agency and to your therapeutic process by doing whatever it takes to be here for you
3. We are more than just grief

You might want to work with us if...

While most clients come to us for bereavement, grief is not isolated to a physical death. You may want to work with us if you are experiencing grief in the form of:

• Loss of a relationship
• Family conflict
• Death of a loved one
• Transition to a new relationship after the death of a loved one
• Struggling with developing healthy coping skills
• Challenges in dealing with the regular complexities of 21st Century life
• Job loss
